The Area
The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park,
Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine
and The Trossachs

"So wondrous wild, the whole might seem,
The scenery of a fairy dream"

Sir Walter Scott - The Lady of The Lake

Surrounded by The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Dounans Centre is located in the heart of The Trossachs, an area of unrivalled natural beauty, which so enthralled Sir Walter Scott that he immortalised it in verse. Whether you wish to stroll or jog through some leafy lochside glade, or push the pace all the way to the top of a nearby Munro, we promise you runs which you will never forget. You could even find yourself cruising the islands on Loch Lomond (remember the Glasgow 500th), or viewing the 'Ben' from the decks of the steamship, Sir Walter Scott, which sails daily on Loch Katrine. The options are limitless, and all easily accessible from the site. Check out The Trossachs Web Site
